A delegation from U.S Military Medical personnel participating in Military Tropical Medicine Course made a visit to the Public Health Laboratory Ivo de Carneri on Tuesday 13th August 2019.

During their visit, the delegation had a general overview of activities conducted by PHL-IdC especially in fighting Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTDs) particularly Lymphatic Filariasis and Schistosomiasis and also had an opportunity to visit Schistosomiasis transmission site.

The course is hosted by the Uniformed Services University (USU) and in Tanzania is hosted by Walter Reed Program Tanzania and Tanzania People’s Defence Force (TPDF) as an exchange program.
The course is a comprehensive lecture, seminar, laboratory, and case-based course presented by a faculty with substantial tropical medicine field experience.
