Speaking at the Official Opening Ceremony of the Training course on Tropical Medicine and Global Health on July 18, The Director general of Ministry of Health- Zanzibar Dr Jamala Taib, congratulated PHL-IDC for hosting the course. “I am confident that PHL-IDC will harness the necessary support to ensure that this programme will be successfully and fruitfully.”
Dr Jamala also gave the brief history of PHL- IdC, and mention its status “This institution is an asset for Zanzibar, for its high scientific standards”
Speaking at same occasion, the president of Ivo de Carneri foundation Alessandra Carozzi de Carneri, said that she was pleased to see such diverse participation in the training adding that this will contribute to the success of the programme and provide opportunities for dynamic exchange of ideas and experience and field experience in tropical medicine and global health.
“To develop human resource in tropical medicine and global health is strictly part of the mission of Ivo de Carneri Foundation. ,” said Alessandra Carozzi.
She also thanked the University of Florence Global Health center at Toscana Region and Carlo Urbani Association for their financial support provided.
